HOW WE EVALUATE APPLICATIONS
We are looking for undergraduate students who can use their Perrigo Fellowship as a stepping stone for their career in life sciences research, medicine, public policy, or any science-related jobs. The most competitive applications will articulate how working in a lab at U-M LSI will help them towards their own career goals.
AVAILABLE LABORATORIES FOR 2025 FELLOWS
The following laboratories are available for placement in summer 2025:

Janet Smith, Ph.D. - Structural biology
Lois Weisman, Ph.D. - Cell biology
Alison Narayan, Ph.D. - Chemical biology
Tzumin Lee, M.D., Ph.D. - Neuroscience
Peng Li, Ph.D. - Neuroscience
Stephen Weiss, M.D. - Cancer biology
David Ginsburg, M.D. - Genetics
QUALIFICATIONS
Any U.S. citizen or resident alien (green card) who is an undergraduate student at any Michigan college or university at the time of the fellowship is welcome to apply.
International students at Michigan colleges or universities should check with the international center at their home institution to ensure that their visa will allow participation.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Applications for Summer 2025 are due on or before February 1st, 2025.
Fill out the LSI Perrigo Application Form in Interfolio
Upload Academic Transcripts: Upload a current copy of your undergraduate transcript(s) via the Interfolio Portal
Note: Transcript files should be named with the following structure: "Last Name, First Name - 'Name of College' Transcript" (ex. Jane Smith = Smith, Jane - Michigan Technological University Transcript)
Two Letters of Recommendation: Enter the names, email addresses, and a personal message for each of the two reference letter writers who agreed to submit letters on your behalf for the system to request letters of recommendation
You can submit your application before all recommendation letters are received, but all requests for letters must be sent out before your application can be reviewed.
To request a letter of recommendation select 'Add File', followed by 'Request a Recommendation'. There you can add your recommenders' contact information and send a formal email requesting a letter of recommendation.
Funding may be subject to federal and/or state income taxes. It is the sole responsibility of the individual hired as a Perrigo Fellow to investigate the impact, if any, of their pay on student financial aid, personal income tax or any similar situation.
