Applications for Summer 2024 now closed. Applicants will be notified of a decision by email, starting in March through early April.

THE FELLOWSHIP

Each year the U-M Life Sciences Institute (LSI) offers an immersive, hands-on fellowship in basic science research to undergraduate students from across Michigan.

Fellows receive a stipend of $6,000 for the summer, in addition to $2,500 in housing support.

YOUR SUMMER

You'll spend 10 weeks working side-by-side with mentors in the state-of-the-art laboratories at the Life Sciences Institute.

Fellows engage in opportunities for science communication and chalk talks, mentor lunches, workshops, dinner outings, and other network building activities.

At the end of the summer, fellows present posters, and give oral presentations of their research projects to the LSI community during the capstone Perrigo Symposium.
