Applications for Summer 2018 will become active starting November 15, 2017.
The deadline for all applications and materials to be submitted is February 1, 2018, 5:00PM EST.

APPLICATION STEPS
  • Carefully read and review the application instructions, before and during the application process.
  • Fill out the online application
  • Upload a current copy of your undergraduate transcript(s) via the online application
  • Enter the email addresses of the two reference letter writers who agreed to submit a letter on your behalf for this application
    • A completed reference letter form should accompany all letters, and be submitted as a PDF.
Note: Transcript files should be named with the following structure: "Last Name, First Name - 'Name of College' Transcript"
(ex. Bob Smith = Smith, Bob - Michigan Technological University Transcript)


FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I submit my application/transcript(s) after the February 1st deadline?
Unfortunately, we will not accept applications received after February 1st, 5:00PM EST.  Only applications that are entirely complete by the deadline will be reviewed.  We recommend students submit their applications at least 3 business days before the deadline in order to account for any computing issues that may arise.

Can my writers submit their letter of recommendation after the February 1st deadline?
Unfortunately, we will not accept materials received after February 1st, 5:00PM EST.  Only applications that are entirely complete by the deadline will be reviewed.

Am I eligible to apply if I graduate this spring but will continue taking classes in the Summer/Fall or as a non-degree seeking student?
If you graduate with an undergraduate degree any time before December 2018, you are not eligible to apply to the 2018 summer program.

When will I know if I've been accepted?
Applicants will be notified by email starting in February through early April. Due to the volume of applicants, we cannot give individual confirmation for application materials received.  We appreciate applicants' patience as we make our final decisions.  If you have not heard from us yet, no decision has been made on your application.

Can I select only one faculty member whose lab I'd like to work in over the summer?
No; every applicant must select at least 4 different faculty members they would be interested in working with over the summer.  We do not allow students to select their own lab, but during the matching process your preferences will be taken into consideration.
